5 reasons to visit the island of Brac
The island of Brac is the largest central Dalmatian island and the third largest island in the Adriatic Sea. Bounded by magical bays and covered with forests of pines and cypresses, Brac is one of the most beautiful Croatian islands, which is often covered by renowned foreign media. That is why it would be time to present some of the interesting destinations you can see:
1. Zlatni rat
The special story of Zlatni rat is its natural phenomenon where the beach itself changes its shape and position depending on the wind that blows, waves and sea currents, which form the very top of the beach, which is constantly changing. Interestingly, measurements have shown that Zlatni rat is getting longer every year.
2. Dragon Cave
Also known as Dragonjina Cave, it amazes people with its mysticism, secrecy and beauty. It is named after a dragon carved into its rock, and is a monument to the cave monastic life of a Glagolitic priest from the fifteenth century. The cave is 20 meters long and divided into four rooms.
3. Via Brattia
As much as 135 kilometers will be Via Brattia, a hiking trail around the island of Brac. An excellent new tourist product will certainly be a new trump card of Brac tourism. The hiking-tourist trail will connect the 12 most attractive historical locations and will be a challenge for recreationists and mountaineers who will collect stamps on it, but also for real adventurers in search of a new experience.
4. Blaca Desert
The Blaca Desert is actually a monastery founded in the 16th century by Glagolitic priests from Poljica. Blaca is a monastery complex, isolated and surrounded by walls from the outside world. It is an outstanding example of the Dalmatian architectural tradition. From 1926 to the early 1960s, it operated a private observatory. We can't even imagine a better place to observe the stars and the universe than the isolated southern slopes of Brac.
5. Vidova gora
The highest peak on the Adriatic islands (778 meters). From the very top of Vidova gora there is a beautiful view of the islands of central and southern Dalmatia. The name comes from the church that once stood on top of the hill, and today only its ruins can be seen. It is assumed that the church here was built in the 13th or 14th century. At the top of Vidova gora there is a typical Dalmatian tavern with stone tables and benches for relaxation, and while enjoying your meal you can also enjoy the beautiful view to the south and one of the most famous beaches - Zlatni rat.
