Croatia as your ideal destination - a new tourist season has opened!
Fantastic news comes from Split: Tourism is back, everything is alive, the numbers are growing day by day. It is estimated that in June, a change in our security situation related to the pandemic will bring at least a few tens of thousands of Germans, Austrians, Hungarians and Czechs more than could have been planned and expected.
There is a greater demand for islands and holiday homes as larger crowds are avoided. The trend of renting luxury villas that offer privacy and a kind of isolation, last year was the most sought after, and this trend will continue this season.
Never before, like this season, Dubrovnik has been connected to the US, with eight overseas flights a week announced. The proximity of Croatia, which can be reached by car, is an exceptional advantage. There are a lot of Slovenians who can't imagine a vacation without the Adriatic and it will be the same this year. Over 20,000 Czechs have already bought a ticket for the famous Czech yellow train RegioJet, which will start bringing the first passengers to the Adriatic coast on May 28. Unlike last year, when the Czechs had the opportunity to travel exclusively to Rijeka by train, this year a line was introduced to Split, and the train will pass through Zagreb and Budapest.
At a recent meeting at the county level with all stakeholders in tourism, it was agreed that in the season, in accordance with the possibilities of the County Institute of Public Health, it will be organized points for testing tourists, if necessary when they return. It should also be noted that Germany has put us on the green list. We have 60 percent of vaccinated tourism workers. Compared to the past at this time, there are over 30 percent more domestic tourists on the Adriatic.
That the tourist season has arrived can be felt at Split Airport. A novelty is the daily line to Amsterdam, which will fly three times a day in the heart of the season. It is also important that the arrivals of planes in Split are full of passengers, so there are up to 150 passengers per plane, while departures from Split are far more empty.
It is now clear to everyone that Croatia has become more attractive and safer with the vaccination of people in tourism, bilateral agreements on facilitating border crossings and putting Croatia in the green zone.
