Ethno Eco Villages in Dalmatia - Idyllic Locations that Attract More Tourists
In recent years, in the area of Split-Dalmatia County, there has been an expansion of rural tourist farms, and many tourists (domestic and foreign) visit the remote places of the Dalmatian hinterland. Staying in old stone houses on country estates, using objects that have been thrown out of use, encounters with animals that can only be seen in books in cities are a great challenge for excursionists.

The undiscovered beauties of old Dalmatia, outside the tourist bustle on the coast, century-old stone houses that exude Mediterranean peace, are within reach of all people who want a different vacation, travelers looking for untouched nature and beautiful sea. Dalmatian ethno-eco villages are specific, their purpose is to preserve cultural heritage, revive old crafts, produce healthy food... Visitors are also offered excursions on foot, on bicycles or horses, various forms of active tourism, from participating in agricultural work and collecting medicinal herbs, to rafting, rock climbing, sport fishing.
The first ethno eco village in Dalmatia
The Škopljanac family from Radošić came up with the idea that rural tourism could be one of the leading tourist activities. Tourist rural, ethno-eco and recreational complex of the Škopljanac family in the hamlet of Škopljanci in the village of Radošić in the municipality of Lećevica near Split, covers a total area of 300 thousand square meters, in the center of which is a renovated Dalmatian village with 20 houses.
Their complex includes the Medunca oak forest, which is protected as a natural heritage monument of the Republic of Croatia, an ethnographic local museum with 45 original folk costumes of the Dalmatian hinterland and 750 original useful rural objects, tools and utensils. There are also various farms: cows, donkeys, poultry, a farm for breeding wild rabbits and now a habitat for wild boar and deer Lopotara is being built to expand the tourist offer.
