Why You Should Buy Real Estate On Croatian Island
Although real estate on the islands was mostly owned by the local population decades ago, today a completely different answer is offered to that question. Perhaps we can thank the growing popularity of Croatia as one of the leading tourist destinations in Europe, or else foreigners have recognized the natural beauty that „Lijepa Naša“ abounds in. In any case, the purchase of real estate on the island has seen a large increase both by buyers in coastal cities and by foreign investors.
One of the main advantages of the island is certainly that it offers a quiet family holiday and long-term year-round living, yet it is relatively close to larger Dalmatian cities in case of need. Furthermore, anyone who has spent at least one night on any of our islands knows that starry nights are special, especially on islands that are a little further away like Lastovo. The distance from the urban environment and the bright city make the sky and stars perfectly visible, and create an ambiance that you can find nowhere else. The research of domestic and foreign investors shows that Croatian islands such as Hvar, Brač, Šolta, Vir, Pag are top destinations for investing in the purchase of real estate, land or apartments. The fact that the interest on savings is very low or none speaks for buying real estate as the best form of savings, it is not worth keeping money in the bank because you will be at a loss due to inflation. On the other hand, prices in Croatia are rising at an average annual rate of 10%, so that you can make a respectable profit by renting and possibly selling within a few years after purchase. Also unlike stocks, buying real estate does not require a high level of knowledge in areas such as economics and statistics, and the investment is certainly safer. When you add to that an island like Hvar with over 2700 hours of sunshine per year and an average annual temperature of 16.5 ⁰C, we have a winning combination.
All in all, we conclude that buying real estate on the Croatian islands is an excellent choice in terms of a safe investment with a quick return and constant income (renting). Personal pleasure should not be left out either, because owning a property on the island leaves you with the possibility of using it whenever you want, and it is well known that summers on the Croatian islands are crazy and unforgettable.
